In 1987, David Khoo Wei Liang and Rajesh Anand were two classmates fresh from the University of Malaya Faculty of Law. Khoo, methodical and deliberate, had spent his pupillage in a corporate boutique. Anand, bold and persuasive, had trained under one of KL's fiercest trial lawyers.
They pooled their savings — not enough for an office on Jalan Ampang, but enough for two rooms above a printing shop. Their first case was a commercial dispute worth RM50,000. Their last case together, thirty-three years later, was a cross-border arbitration worth RM2 billion.
The practice they built wasn't the largest in KL. But it became one of the most respected — a firm where every client, regardless of the size of their matter, received the same meticulous preparation and fierce advocacy.
